The Page tool allows you to create content that you can use in conjunction with the Module tool. You can use this tool to link content from different areas of the course, embed videos and images and upload files.

You can also use the Page tool to frame your Assignments. Each Page allows you to include other content such as images or videos that could allow you to provide more detail to your Assignments.

To access your course pages, click on the Pages tab located on the left-side navigation in Canvas.

You will see a list of all your Pages and also an option to add more Pages by click on the

Add a File to your Page

To add a file link, open the Page where you would like to include a file link and click on Edit

In the Rich Content Editor place your cursor where you would like to add the file, on the right side of the screen you will see the Content Selector that gives you different options for linking files. You can link to other content in your course or files or images inside your course or external images or files.

The Links tab allows you to link to other areas of your course, such as Assignments, Quizzes, Discussions, etc. To add a link on a page, click on the link name. It will be automatically linked in the area where you placed your cursor in the content editor

You can also create a link that will allow students or instructors or both to create their own content pages.  To do this, click Link to a New Page, name the link, and then click Insert Link. The link will be inserted where your cursor was placed and new pages that are created can be accessed through the Pages link in the left-sidebar.

You can decide who can edit the page, options include only teachers, teachers and students, or anyone.

If the page is read to be published click Save & Publish [1]. If you just want to save your work click on Save [2].

Add External Links

To add an external link, open the Page where you would like to include an external link and click on Edit. Place your cursor in the Content Editor where you would like the link to go and click on the Link to URL icon.

Enter the link and click on Insert Link.

The link will flash yellow and be called “Link”.

You can also select a word or words and link an external website. [1] Highlight the words you want linked and click on the [2] Link to URL icon. Enter the website link and click on Insert Link.

Embed Videos

To Embed a Video open the Page where you would like to embed a video and click on Edit, On the Content Editor switch to HTML Editor.

Copy the embed code from the video source, you can usually find the code on the Share option of the video and paste the code into the HTML editor in Canvas.

Click Save or Save to Publish the information to the class.

Insert Images

To add an image, open the Page where you would like to include an image link and click on Edit. Place your cursor in the Content Editor where you would like to place the image. On the right side select the images tab to locate the image. You can either select an image [1] already in your course or upload an image from your computer. If you decide to [2] upload an image, click on the [3] Browse button to select the image and click on Upload. The image will show on the Content Editor.

Create a Course Wiki

All Pages are actually Wiki pages. As long as you change the options setting to Teacher and Students or Anyone, they are allowed to access the page and enter content.
